French strawberry tart |Tart aux fraises
French desserts are amazing! In particular, lavish tarts laden with fresh fruits are exceptionally delicious!
Tartlets are basically a shortcrust pastry filled with any type of filling like Custard, créme pâtissiére, Caramel, Chocolate ganache, mousse, Nutella, etc. Also, it can be topped with all kinds of seasonal fruits and dry fruits. It is so phenomenal and versatile.
My family loves French tarts very much and I really like baking tarts whether it could be savory or sweet It is a great dessert or a savory meal. This is a great way to consume fresh fruits and vegetables. Making tart shells in advance and enjoying fruits with different types of filling give you amazing satisfaction.
Today I'm sharing a stunning sweet-tart made up of strawberries and french pastry cream which is rich in vitamin C, packed with nutrients. It's a real treat!

How to make the best Strawberry tart?
Ingredients
For the Shortcrust pastry
- 2 cups plain flour (extra for dusting)
- 2 tbsp icing sugar
- 75 g of butter (Room temperature)
- 1 medium-sized egg (beaten)
- 1 tsp salt
For the French cream (Créme pâtissiére)
- 150 ml whole milk.
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla pod.
- 25 g caster sugar.
- 2 tbsp cornflour.
- 3 egg yolks
For Topping
- Fresh strawberries or seasonal fruits. (According to your requirements)
- Glaze or honey. ( optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- To make the tart pastry, Combine the flour, icing sugar, and butter in a food processor and mix until the mixture resembles bread crumbs. Add the egg and blend again until it forms a dough.
- Dust a work surface with flour and place the dough onto it. Roll the pastry with the help of a rolling pin in a round shape or also you can cut it into 1 or 2 rounds a little bigger than the baking tins.
- Now, line each tin with a disc of pastry and chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
- Take out the pastry crust, At the time of baking, if you are worried about your pastry crust to get burn
- Dust the baking tin and place the dough and press it with the help of your thumb, then prick the pastry base with a fork.
- Now fill the baking tin with black beans and then bake for 10 minutes.*
- Carefully remove the beans and bake the base for another 5 minutes until golden brown. Set aside to cool.
- Take a saucepan put the milk and vanilla extract into it and heat until boiling.
- Put the sugar, cornflour, and egg yolks in a mixing bowl and whisk gradually. Now pour in half the hot milk and whisk until smooth, creamy and thick. This will take 2 to 3 minutes.
- Pour into a bowl, cover it with a thin film and keep it in a refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- For the cream pastry, you can use a product called Custard powder Weikfield vanilla flavor.
- Take a saucepan put the milk and heat until boiling. Now take 2 to 3 tablespoons of custard powder and mix it into boiling milk. Whisk until smooth, creamy, and thick.
- This will take 2 to 3 minutes.
- Pour into a bowl, cover it with a thin film and keep it in a refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Pour the Créme pâtissiére into the tart shell and arrange the raspberries standing upright on the pastry cream. I like berries a lot so I'm using strawberries. Cover your tart with gorgeous strawberries and use the glaze on the top and chill in the refrigerator.
- For the glaze I prefer honey. You can also prepare your own glaze.
- For Glaze: Take 1 tbsp of jam and heat in a tablespoon of water and whisk. Now, use this glaze on the top.
