What is Panna Cotta?
Panna Cotta is a classic dessert originated in Italy, made up of heavy whipping cream, thickened with gelatin or agar-agar. Panna Cotta aka cooked cream is an easy Italian Jello pudding aromatized with different flavors like Vanilla, Strawberry, Peaches, Apricots Chocolate, Coffee, and Mango.
Strawberry Panna Cotta- An elegant and refreshing dessert, perfect for summer is a simple pudding that you can make easily with few ingredients and also create different fruit sauces and flavors too. A bite of panna cotta is remarkably gooey like a jelly melts in the mouth, it has an incredibly smooth texture. It's not only elegant but surprisingly a tasty recipe for parties. Absolutely fabulous Panna Cotta!
I can't wait to share this recipe with all of you. Let's begin-
RECIPE OF STRAWBERRY PANNA COTTA
Ingredients
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 vanilla pod or vanilla essence
- 2 gelatin sheets/agar-agar
- 3 tbsp of sugar (60 g)
- 1 tsp agar -agar/gelatin
- 2 cups of fresh strawberries/ strawberry pulp
How to make Panna Cotta?
- For the Panna cotta, soak the gelatin sheet in cold water for 5 to 10 minutes until soft. ( Read the instruction behind the purchase)
- Place the milk, cream, sugar, vanilla essence or pod into a pan and bring it to simmer (don't boil)
- If using vanilla pod scrape the seeds discard the vanilla pod after simmer.
- Squeeze the water out of the gelatin sheets then add gelatin into the pan, stir until the gelatin dissolves completely.
- Divide the mixture among 3-4 jars or Ramekins and keep it aside into the refrigerator to cool down completely for at least 1 hour until set.
- You can pour the mixture directly or you can slightly turn the glass and pour the mixture as shown in the picture below↓

For the Strawberry sauce
- Grind the fresh strawberries into a blender.
- Into a saucepan add in the strawberry pulp, add milk if you like light pink color.
- Add gelatin into the strawberry pulp. Mix well until gelatin dissolves completely.
- Pour the mixture into the jar and set aside for 1 hour.
- Serve with rose syrup, fresh strawberries, or both.
Toppings for Panna Cotta
The beauty of this dessert is the pairing possibilities are endless.
- I prefer all kind of berries, fruit sauce( raspberry, strawberry, mango, apricot, peaches)
- Chocolate sauce
- Caramel sauce
- Seasonal fruits
- Nuts
