Spicy coriander dip | Coriander chutney | Hari chutney

Coriander chutney is a type of versatile Indian dip.Green chutney is one of the healthiest dip and is often used in Indian cuisine.It goes with snacks recipes like sandwiches,samosa's,dahi bhalla ,aloo chaat so on...It helps to improve digestion and enhance the taste,aroma and nutrition of any dish.
I usually make green chutney when i plan to make stuffed parathas, wraps,Dhokhla,Pulav pani poori ,dal etc.This is one of my favorite Indian dip; The combination of coriander leaves ,lemon,green chilies and Hing (asofoetida) so flavorful and gorgeous.
Good part of this dip is that you can refrigerate it for 2 to 3 days, and also you can enhance the flavor of this chutney by adding garlic, tomatoes or sometimes coconut. (as per your desire).

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 green chili
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • 3 cups of fresh coriander leaves with tender stalks (just remove the thick stalks)
  • salt to taste
  • pinch of Hing (asofoetida) 
  • water as required

Directions

  1. Firstly, take freshly washed coriander leaves (rinse them well).
  2. Add all the ingredients into a blender then,add little amount of water and blend until a thick smooth paste.
  3. Now you are ready to serve with your favorite appetizer OR you can refrigerate it for 2 to 3 days and consume it whenever you need.

Tip : Consume chutney  on the same day for better taste.
