RHUBARB APPLE CRUMBLE | Homemade desserts

Rhubarb Apple Crumble

Hey folks! I'm back with another delicious twist. Today, I would like to introduce you all with another super healthy ingredient i.e. 'RHUBARB'. I know you guys might be thinking again what kind of vegetable it is? I go to the grocery store I see rhubarb and I wonder," what does rhubarb taste like? " Just like Artichokes Remember, I had posted a recipe of Artichokes a few weeks ago and I hope you guys are trying Artichokes. Everything looks intimidating if you are discovering for the first time. Actually, in France, it's not easy to get all the Indian stuff, and I'm a girl who doesn't mind trying new things.

What is Rhubarb?

It took me some time to figure out how it tastes? how to use them in cooking? now I would like to share some tips that I have learned through my experience.
So, rhubarb is technically a type of vegetable which has broad leaves with thick, fleshy stalks which is inedible. It seems very much like a greenish-red version of 'Celery' but you can't eat raw because it is sour in taste.

What does rhubarb taste like?

Raw rhubarb stalks have a crunchy and juicy texture that is sour in taste to help you better understand it tastes just like Indian gooseberry or Karonda(Carissa carandas). My mom used to make karonda chutney and side dish which is served with plain roti.

Sour and sweet it is the 2 in one treat for the taste buds. The classic crumble has always been a favorite of mine whether it's apple, rhubarb or both they are just perfect and one of the easiest and most satisfying desserts. There is one thing which is important while making perfect crumble is that butter should be nice and cold which binds well and gives a crunchy, crumbly texture.
